LOOPINGS

A MUSIC VIDEO BY SAMUEL M.D. FALISSE

Heading towards the desolate volcanic plains, the mist, the clouds, and the storm for this second music video by Wellsam, produced by us. Let yourself be carried away by the dizzying shots of Reunion Island, which coexist with more intimate ones filmed in the studio.

Loopings is the second music video produced by Mindview Entertainment. Inspired by Théo Skudra's work on Drake's "Money in the Grave" music video, we wanted to recreate a black and white aesthetic to express the duality of the character and enhance the feeling of solitude in vast spaces.

Alone in the world

As a child, it's unlikely you'd have to hide in a trunk to escape threatening classmates, let alone find yourself trapped inside when the owners leave the parking lot with the car. It is on this logic of escalating misfortune that the plot developed.

"L’essentiel est dans mes textes, le clip chuchote le reste"

The video was shot at 50 frames per second to be able to slow it down to 25 frames per second in post-production, creating a slow-motion effect while maintaining lip sync synchronization. During filming, Wellsam had to keep up with the song's accelerated tempo at 200% speed for convincing results!"

Gaining altitude

The unique setting of the first half of the video, the Plaine des Sables, is located in the highlands of Reunion Island. Its desert-like, almost lunar aspect immediately inspired us and allowed for aerial shots without any constraints.

To achieve this thick fog, the weather window was very narrow (around 15-20 minutes) and unpredictable. We moved there first thing in the morning to film the "freestyle" shots and then again for the motorcycle shots when the plain was completely clear.
